How do I sign up for courses?

To sign up, select the Register button at the top of the Learning Management Portal home page. Complete the required fields on the registration screen. Upon registration, you will receive a welcome email from PTAD Learning Portal <ptad-support@tegtech.io> with a link to set up your password. Select the link to complete your account registration. Once you set your password, you can enroll in available courses.

Why do I need to reset my password?

The PTAD Learning Portal was upgraded as of August 28, 2023 and requires existing users to reset passwords. Select Reset your password on the Sign in page, enter the email address associated with your account and select Submit. You will receive an email containing a link to reset your password. Select the link and complete the form to change your password. Your previous course completions and any courses in progress are available on the My Courses Dashboard linked in the top navigation header. From the dashboard, view existing certificates under My Certificates. If you have any questions or issues, please submit a help request using the Support button at the bottom right of the screen.

Why do I need to verify my email address?

The Learning Portal is a public-facing system offered by the Comptroller's office to provide convenient, secure, online access to training programs provided by the Property Tax Assistance Division (PTAD). We want to keep your email address confidential and safe and are using a common verification process to confirm its you and to prevent unauthorized individuals from accessing your account and data.

Our office is statutorily required to ensure that ARB members have attended a Comptroller-provided training per Tax Code Section 5.041. This online verification process ensures that our office and you comply with that statute.

We definitely encourage you to think before you click. Here is what to look for in your inbox. You should expect a welcome email from PTAD Learning Portal <ptad-support@tegtech.io> with a subject of "Complete your PTAD Learning Portal account registration" that includes a link to set your password. Select the Log in button and follow the instructions to create your password.

If you no longer have this welcome email, visit the Reset your password page and enter your email address to receive a password reset email.

I forgot my password

To reset your password, select the Forgot your password? link on the Sign in page. Enter the email address associated with your account and select Submit. You will receive an email containing a link to reset your password. Select the link and complete the form to change your password. Your password must meet the following constraints:

  • Must be between 8 and 256 characters in length

  • Must contain both upper- and lower-case characters

  • Must contain at least one special character

  • Must contain at least one number

I’ve been invited to a course by my ARB coordinator. Now what?

Your Appraisal Review Board (ARB) coordinator submitted your email address for enrollment in a course you are required to complete through this PTAD Learning Portal. You should have received an invitation email with the Subject: “You’ve been invited to enroll the course at the PTAD Learning Portal!” Within this email, you will see a create account that will direct you to register and activate your account on the PTAD Learning Portal.

Once you complete the online registration form, you will receive a welcome email with the Subject: “Complete your PTAD Learning Portal account registration”.

Follow the link provided in the email to sign into your PTAD Learning Portal account.

Once you are logged in to the PTAD Learning Portal, select the My Course Dashboard link in the top navigation menu. The course you are enrolled in will appear here. If you did not receive these emails, please check your Junk/Spam folders, or contact your ARB coordinator.

Who will send me emails regarding the PTAD Learning Portal?

Emails will be sent from PTAD Learning Portal <ptad-support@tegtech.io>.

If you select the Support button and submit a question, you will receive an email response from PTAD Support <ptad-support@tegtech.io>.

Please check your Junk/Spam folders if you are not receiving Learning Portal emails. If your account was created for you, check the inbox for the email you provided to your ARB Coordinator or to PTAD and look for an email with the subject “An administrator created an account for you at PTAD Learning Portal.”

To ensure you receive all PTAD Learning Portal emails, we highly encourage you to save ptad-support@tegtech.io to your email contacts.

How do I see what courses I am enrolled in?

Once you enroll in a course, it will be listed on your My Courses Dashboard. Log into the PTAD Learning Management Portal and select the My Courses Dashboard link in the top navigation menu to access your dashboard.

How do I take the course I am enrolled in?

From the My Courses Dashboard, expand the course module overview by selecting the arrow below the course. Select the title of the course module you wish to review. Select Next to navigate through the course module. If, for any reason, you must resume the course at a later time, our Learning Portal will track your progress. When you return, you can select the module to continue where you left off. Once you have reviewed your module, select Submit to move onto the next module or to receive a certificate if you have completed the course requirements.

I've completed my course. Where is my certificate?

Once course minimum requirements are completed, you will be issued a certificate. The certificate can be viewed from My Certificates in the top navigation menu.

I have my course certificate. Now what?

PTAD checks tax professional course completions weekly. ARB coordinators also have access to PTAD Learning Reports to monitor ARB member course completions.

For property tax professionals and arbitrators, CE credits are not immediately posted to TDLR's website and must be separately entered by PTAD. Please allow two weeks or more for CE credits to be updated. If credit is not posted after two weeks, you may inquire at PTPCE@cpa.texas.gov.
