Returning ARB members must complete the Comptroller's continuing education training course and a statement agreeing to comply with Tax Code requirements each year they serve. Please note that because of this requirement, an ARB member beginning the second year of his or her first term is not eligible to participate in hearings or vote on determinations of protest until he or she completes these requirements.
2025 ARB New Member Online Training
Audience: ARB Members, TLO
Course Method: Self Paced

This training session is created for newly appointed appraisal review board members and other property tax professionals. Arbitrators applying for the comptroller's registry may watch this session as part of their application requirements. Taxpayer liaison officers are also required to view this training as part of their statutory requirements to serve their appraisal district office. Other appraisal district staff members are eligible to view this for continuing education credits through the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

The 2025 Continuing Education for ARB Members covers chapter 1 on Legal Issues of the continuing education appraisal review board manual, ARB survey feedback, and chapter 2 of the Continuing Education Appraisal Review Board Manual. It fulfills the 4 hour continuing education requirement.

Live, in-person session in San Antonio. Please do not attend this course unless your registration was accepted. Space is limited due to venue capacity restrictions. Training materials will be provided at the venue.

Live, in-person session taking place in San Antonio. Please do not attend this course unless your registration was accepted. Space is limited due to venue capacity restrictions. Training materials will be provided at the venue.
This session lasts all day and includes a one hour lunch break. Please bring a water bottle if you wish to stay hydrated as beverages will not be provided. Vending machines will be available.
New ARB members are not allowed to participate in hearings or vote on protest determinations until they complete the Comptroller's training course and a statement at the conclusion of the training session agreeing to comply with Tax Code requirements during ARB hearings.
